It ain't 'alf 'ot Mum!!

Tuesday 22nd May
I thought it was me who was feeling the heat, but now I realise that all the Italians are feeling it as well! After leaving camp site in Alba, made my way to Allesandria, after stopping of at beautiful little hillside village of Neive. By the time I had got to Allesandria I was pretty exhausted by the heat, so although the Youth Hostel that I found there was a bit strange, I was pleased to find a clean bed and a shower. Found a great little pizza bar, where I enjoyed great pizza, large beer and glass of beer for 8 euros. Two very jolly fat Italians running the bar.

Wednesday 23rd May
It's getting hotter. Apparently 33 - 35°C. But felt better today. Made my way to Pavia, and found good campsite. Had quite a long chat with Dutch couple and a Belgian Cyclist who was towing all his gear on a little trailer - I reckon I could have managed the cast iron bath after all, Magoo!

Thurday 24th May
Got up early and all packed up before 8.30, so as to try and get some miles in before it gets too hot. Good tactics, because I managed 40 miles before 1.00. Arrived in Cremona, which is where I am now. I've just got directions to camp site.
Lovely town. Not too far to Bologna now, and a few days break.

We had Liverpool and Milan European football cup on in AThens last night - so Italy is ever on agenda and they are very delighted. Quiet relatively even after the match a. because Liverpool lost and b. becaus it keeps raining !! Yes in Greece. We need it. Glad you will stop in Bolgna, the gastronimic capital of Italy - so they say. But watch the weight or you'll never peddle again! Sounds like you have figured how to deal with the heat - up early.
Have a great relax too with Sweetheart

I log on to your blog every morning to keep the Bladder household up to date and this is all so exciting. So sweet of you to put so much time and effort into planning the Bladders first trip to Italy in Dan the Van, finding us all these lovely little campsites and pizzerias!!
Glad it is hot there. Bloody miserable here - raining just in time for our first b b q of the year!

Hello Bish, what a fantastic adventure ! Ros gave me the Bish Blog address after a day at the cricket with Dad, Paddums and Humphrey and I am now looking forward to catching up on all the back dated blog. Have been to race meetings at Imola, just down the road from Bologne, where the food is excellent so don't be supprised if you can't get those shorts on in a weeks time, which, as Magoo points out, is a strange place to keep a bicycle pump ! or is it a Waba Waba ? Enjoy your week with Sue.
Best wishes from Me and BIG hello's and wishes from Heidi, Stevie G, Pudding and Nkomo.
